Anton de Swardt (Technical Advisor)

Anton deSwardtHe is a highly motivated person with good communication and people skills. He is a team player, hard dedicated worker and can work under immense pressure. He is a good negotiator, has excellent technical, marketing, organizational and business development skills. He have a wide technology experience and have a passion for emerging technologies and always makes an effort to be up to date.


He started radio electronics in 1974 in the Technical High School Bellville and gained experience in Radio and Radar Electronics until 1985. He completed his studies in Electronic Engineering in 1981 at the Pretoria
Technikon and has completed his career in the Air Force (1985) as Section Head of the F1 Mirage Radar Section.
From 1985 he has specialized in Telemetry Engineering in the Aerospace Industry in the Denel Group. He was involved in Electronic System Engineering, design, development, procurement and International Technology transfers in Telemetry Electronic Systems.
During this period he gained experience in computer, telemetry and radio frequency engineering. He was part of the South African Space Pioneers by working on the South African Space Program from 1987 to 1994.
He gained experience in telemetry and radio frequency systems and was involve in Satellite and Rocket Technologies. He was also responsible for the system engineering and design of Satellite Earth Station and Telemetry Ground Control Stations.
During 1987 to 1994 he was responsible for the technology transfer of telemetry, antenna and radio transmitter/receivers systems from Israel while working on the South African Space Program.
From 1994 to 1996 he was involved in Telemetry Systems for flight tests of a Mirage Aircraft Russian MIG29 Engine project and the Rooivalk helicopter at the Flight Test Center of the Airforce in Bredasdorp.
From 1996 to 1997 he was Technical Manager of the CSIR Satellite Application Center TX/RX Department at Hartbeeshoek and work closely together with NASA, Aerospatiale and other International Space companies with the launch and tracking of satellites. He has also worked closely together with the University of Stellenbosch with the Sunsat satellite project.
From 1997 he was involve at ATE an Avionics System House with the design and manufacturing of UAV, Aircraft and Helicopter electrical and electronic systems.
During his career he have gained experience in radio/radar/antenna and
satellite/wireless/powerline communication technologies, computer technologies, aviation and alternative energy electrical and electronic systems and telemetry systems used for satellites, rockets, missiles, aircraft, helicopters etc.
Due to his past Satellite communication background, he got involve in the Ku-Band and C-Band VSAT Industry and has started a new company “ICT Connect” in the beginning of 2006. He have established International reseller and distributor agreements with leading International Companies in the Satellite Industry and who are some of the main Satellite Broadband bandwidth suppliers in the Africa market. He also has an extensive knowledge and contact database in the local and international Satellite Industry for KU-Band and C-Band VSAT, Mobile Satellite Platforms (BGAN, C-COMSAT [iNetVu]), Satellite Phones (Iridium, Thurya, INMARSAT IsatPhone), Satellite tracking solutions via Iridium for Ships, Trucks and Aircraft). He has good direct contacts with Intelsat, SES-Americon, Telstar, Eutelsat, Iridium, Inmarsat, World Communication Centre (WCC) Gilat Satcom, Skyvision, Atrexx, GT&T . Evosat and various others.
He has extensive knowledge in the design of Broadband VSAT , Mobile Satellite, Wireless Networks (VPN Star and Mesh) and Hybrid Alternative Energy solutions for Telco applications. Design of Triple Play (Voice, Video and Data) Networks for Gated Communities, Hotels, Multi-Dwelling Units, Golf and Eco Estates and Office Parks Throughout his career he always had a feeling and vision of emerging technologies and has made it his goal to always be up to date with the latest renewable energy, electronic and Information and Communication Technologies. Throughout his career, he has built up an extensive contact database in the national and international ICT and Alternative Energy Industry.
He have worked with most of the Telco companies (Vodacom, MTN, Neotel, Q-Kon, Comsol, Intelsat, Satcom, etc) in Southern Africa and have a contact base up to owner/director levels. During his career he has completed various national and international courses and participates in international conferences.
